TRANSCRIPT:

Erik:

Welcome to Stay Focused, Focus Real Estate's weekly video blog! And this week it is our monthly Focus Five!

Randal:

Five Things to Ignore When You're House Hunting! We'll make this one quick for you. All of the crazy little things that are emotional: Wallpaper and paint colors, carpeting, don't get hung up on your stuff. I don't know how many times I've shown houses and people are shopping for a house around their sofa. They're
looking for a $700,000 home and they're worried about their $1000 sofa or their rug. Don't get caught up with your stuff. Funky Smells: Don't worry about funky smells in somebody else's house.

Erik:

Yeah. And lastly, curb appeal.

Randal:

I don't know if you notice there's a little common bond with some of these things. These are all things you can change. Okay? When you're shopping for a house, don't get hung up on stuff you can change.

Erik:

Especially stuff you can change relatively inexpensively.

Randal:

What would be the things that you would concentrate on?

Erik:

I would concentrate on location. Is the house where I want it to be? Because that's hard to change. location. I'd concentrate on the style of the house, the size of the house. Those are the big things!

Randal:

Yeah. Those are kind of things you can't change.

Erik:

The little things that you can change, don't sweat those details.

Randal:

Yeah. And if you kind of don't get caught up in some of those things, you might be surprised there's a bargain in them there hills. You might find yourself a little bargain when you're looking past some of those things like smells.

Erik:

We talked about that on some of our past videos.

Randal:

The big takeaway here is to make sure you're working with a real estate agent that's helping you Stay Focused. I know it's kind of a cliche!

Erik:

But we can help you Stay Focused on what's important and not sweat those little details or get hung up on those things that don't make that big of a difference.

Randal:

Yep. Thanks for watching today, everybody! Don't forget to Like us on Facebook and subscribe to our YouTube channel and until next time Stay Tuned and Stay Focused.
