This week, Erik & Randal head over to Allandale Farm to chat with the general manager, Helen Glotzer. Allandale is the oldest continually operating farm in Boston (possibly the country) and they are a true urban oasis for farm fresh fruits, vegetables, plants, and flowers. Open from March through late December, not only do they cultivate their own goods, they offer summer programs for kids, workshops, hayrides, and this Sunday you can join their favorite event of the year, the Chili Cook-Off!

Third Annual Chili Cook-Off

Sunday, October 8th: 12 pm - 3 pm

Head to the farm to watch and sample from 15 professional and amateur chefs as they compete for ultimate bragging rights! This is a fun, family-friendly event that benefits Lovin' Spoonfuls, a wonderful local food rescue organization.

Mark your calendars here!

About Allandale Farm

"Just seven miles from downtown Boston on the border of Jamaica Plain and Brookline, Allandale Farm is nestled on 130 acres of rolling hills, woodland, and farm fields. We cultivate 30 of those acres to grow over a hundred different varieties of vegetables, fruits, and cut flowers. We sell our produce through our on-site farmstand, our CSA program, and to our wholesale customers. In addition to our own produce, our farmstand is stocked with a wide variety of locally produced goods from some of the best food producers in the region. Our Garden Center offers an expansive seasonal selection of our own annual and perennial plants, trees, and shrubs, fruit and vegetable starts and supplies for the home gardener."
