This week, Erik & Randal take a stroll through the park to remind you that our parks are beautiful any time of year!

TRANSCRIPT:

Randal:             Hey, welcome back to Stay Focused. Focus Real Estate's weekly video series. We wanted to come outside today and enjoy a little winter time outside. I think one of the things that people really overlook in the winter are the parks.

Erik:               Yeah, and we're standing here in the Arnold Arboretum of Harvard University's in the Jamaica Plain neighborhood in Boston, and it's a beautiful winter day here, it's bright and sunny, a little cool, but we enjoy the parks all winter long.

Randal:             And I just kind of wanted to remind our viewers of what's available to you during the wintertime. The park changes so dramatically in the wintertime. You get such different, beautiful views. You get beautiful long shadows. There's a whole bunch of different-colored berries that are growing on the bushes that you don't normally see.

Erik:               You get to look through the trees and see things you don't see when the things are leafed out.

Randal:             And if you do a little bit of tiny research, you might find there's a lot cool activities. There's a bird walking tour of the Arnold Arboretum, where you can see all the winter birds and their habitats. Lots of woodpeckers, that kind of thing.

Erik:               They have tree identification workshops during the winter.

Randal:             And they even have an iPhone photography course for shooting winter scenes in the park, so there's lots of cool stuff to do here outside of just strolling through either on your own, or with your family, or with your dog, or whatever.

Erik:               This is one of our favorite places to come even all winter long, so we are big advocates, as many of you know, of the parks in the Boston park systems, and so that's why we wanted to continue to advocate being in the parks all year long, not just for the summer.

Randal:             Yeah, so this is a quick little reminder for you that there's things to do outside during the wintertime. The parks are a great place to start, and soon we'll see this covered in snow and the whole scenery will change yet again.

Erik:               And it's quite beautiful and lovely, and people come out ... and its still and quiet ... So get out and enjoy the parks this year. Maybe we'll see you in our parks.

Randal:             Yeah, and if you want a little bit more information about the Arnold Arboretum in the parks, check out arboretum.harvard.edu for a little bit more information on the program that they have both inside the Hunnewell Building and throughout the Arboretum in the wintertime. So, thanks for checking us out today, guys.

Erik:               And don't forget to like us on Facebook.
