🎨 Visiting Artist Spotlight: Ellen Foust

We’re proud to feature Ellen Foust as our Visiting Artist this month, showcasing her project Cloudscapes of Bullough’s Pond: Seasonal Illuminations.

Since 2018, Bullough’s Pond in Newton has served as Ellen’s photographic muse. Returning to the same location across all seasons and weather conditions, she has created an ongoing body of work with nearly 100,000 images—capturing the ever-changing relationship between sky, water, and light. This exhibit highlights 18 of her favorite pieces.

What began during COVID as a form of visual meditation has evolved into a deeply intentional practice. While her process may seem simple, each photograph reflects patience, observation, and timing—waiting for the perfect alignment of light, clouds, and motion. Her dedication even led her to join the Cloud Appreciation Society to further study the skies she so thoughtfully captures.
