- Yeah, what's a dream home? Hmm.

Randal:

- I think that's a very personal question.

Erik:

- It is a personal question.

- It's different for everybody,

- How do you get into

Randal:

- How do you get into your dream home? Well, you start with your starter home. Then you move up to your expansion home, because your family expands, and then they all leave. And you've got great jobs and make a lot of money, and a ton of equity in your medium home that allows you to move into your dream home, and/or maybe you buy your second home. But that's usually what the progression of home ownership looks like.

Erik:

- Yeah, well. Most first time buyers, even second time buyers, do not move into their dream home. They move into a home that works for them. It makes sense economically, makes sense for them personally, their commutes, their family, and then they move, they build equity and they move up. They're not, they're not paying rent anymore.

Randal:

- Sorry. I'm thinking about the day we closed on our first home. And this was

Erik:

- Was that your dream home? Was our first home your dream home?

Randal:

- Can I use the F word on this? No, it wasn't my dream home, but this was Erik and I in our house going, oh my God, what did we just do? And it wasn't for a couple years, we were like, oh, that was the best decision we ever made in our lives.

Erik:

- Yeah.

Randal:

- I mean, that was the best decision we ever made, I think, buying that.

Erik:

- Yeah.

Randal:

- Dump, full of dog hair, and the bathroom, you've never seen a bathroom this filthy, unless you've been to like Mobil gas stations, you know. there's plenty of them there. But yeah, that was a nasty house. But could've we made a better decision, absolutely not.

Erik:

- But you move up.

Randal:

- You move up.
