Benefits vs Risk

Randal-  Hey, one of the topics that's come up for me lately is risk. There is risk in the real estate buying and selling process. There's risk in home ownership. What do you have to say about that?

Erik - Absolutely, there is risk in buying and homeownership but 65% of the US population are homeowners and most people want to be a homeowner.

Randal - Why?

Erik - The benefits!

Randal - And what's the biggest benefit? Really the one big benefit of home ownership? Well, there's many big benefits of home ownership but the average net worth of a homeowner is 41 times greater than that of a renter. So you're talking about a difference of an average net worth of $5,000 compared to $241,000, right? So there's your risk benefit equation.
