Randal:

Welcome back to Stay Focused, FOCUS Real Estate's weekly video series. Here, we're going to share with you today a question we get all the time from homeowners. "Hey Randal, if I get a new refrigerator, is this going to get X? If I paint this room, is it going to get Y?"


Erik:

"I put new countertops in."


Randal:

"If I change the back door, if I sweep the living room," for crying out loud. Anyway.


Erik:

Are the parts equal to the whole?


Randal:

Yeah.


Erik:

Do they add up?


Randal:

And after years of hearing this question, what I really have come to say is this. Let me be your guide into putting the whole thing together because it's not about the parts. It's about the entire package. Right? If you have this beautiful brand new front door, but all the rest of the doors in your house are off their hinges, and the knobs don't work, and the bathroom is a mess, who cares? Right?


Erik:

It's going to look out of place.


Randal:

Erik:

And awkward, so it's not going to be worth it. It's got to fit in.


Randal:

Yeah, it's got to be a package, and maybe that package is a dump, but probably not. Right? But that's okay. Right? Don't spend your money where you don't need to spend your money where it's not really going to make an impact. But really, look at your home or your condominium or whatever you own as an entire package, and how can we make that whole package shine? So, that's something that, I don't know, I've always really enjoyed working on and advising our clients on.


Erik:

We understand. Sometimes, as consumers, you need help with that, understanding that, and we're here to help you out.


Randal:
